OPPORTUNITIES | Veterans

Veterans are a valued part of the NAVAIR workforce. Your experience is paramount to the mission we serve every day, and we are committed to reintegrating veterans from all services into the NAVAIR team.

Your work at NAVAIR will require the same qualities you learned in the service: leadership, management, and technical excellence. We offer a wide range of opportunities and training programs for veterans at the entry, mid, and leadership levels of their careers. A college degree is not required for every position.

The NAVAIR Wounded Warrior Program focuses on recruitment of wounded, ill, or injured veterans with a 30 percent or more service-connected disability, as determined by the Service or Veterans Administration.

The Active Duty Intern Program (ADIP) provides active duty service members the opportunity to join NAVAIR on an intern basis while still on active duty. Participants in the program build their career experience and gain exposure to the federal workforce environment through on-the-job training, rotational assignments, mentoring, and networking. ADIP is available at all NAVAIR sites, and participants may be eligible for transfer to full-time employment with NAVAIR after their active duty separation.

The Naval Acquisition Development Program-Wounded Warrior (NADP-WW) is a four-year, paid program managed by the Naval Acquisition Career Center. New hires through this program progress through a curriculum designed to build their knowledge and skills as upper-level acquisition career field managers and professionals.

Veteran candidates may also gain Expedited Placement in NAVAIR positions. Applicants with the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities, as determined by Office of Personnel Management guidelines, for NAVAIR open vacancies can be considered for placement at the Full Performance Level (FPL) (i.e., GS-12). They may also be placed in a developmental position and trained at the level of qualification before they are advanced to FPL.

We respect the courage and sacrifices you have made to protect our country. NAVAIR is committed to recognizing your skills, talents, and value. We are excited about the contributions you can bring to the NAVAIR team.
