NAVAIR offers extensive training and apprenticeship programs for most trades which include formal classroom training and extensive on-the-job training to equip its artisan workforce with the necessary skills and experience to support the mission and promote career growth. It is imperative that NAVAIR recruit, develop, and maintain a robust artisan workforce that is highly skilled, talented, innovative, and dedicated to maintain its competitive edge in the world of Naval aviation maintenance.

Artisan job opportunities exist NAVAIR wide, however are primarily located at the following Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) Depot locations:

  • FRC East (FRCE) at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina
  • FRC Southeast (FRCSE) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida
  • FRC Southwest (FRCSW) at Naval Air Station North Island, California
  • FRC Mid-Atlantic (FRCMA) at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia

NAVAIR uses several noncompetitive hiring authorities such as Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA), Veterans with a 30 percent or more disability rating and Schedule A appointments to quickly hire qualified candidates.
